ATLA: Who Am I

If you don't like OCs that are siblings of popular canons, or in a relationship with a canon. Please don't leave a comment. I make my artwork because I like it not to be flamed and have rude comments put on it.

I know I said I was going to take a break from Avatar pictures, but I couldn't help myself. I really  really wanted to do this pic. It's one of those where you picture it in your head and this time round it actually turned out how I wanted it to turn out yay So it's all good. I shall now go back to other fandoms and stuff for a bit anyway lol.

Ok so here we have Kari and as you can see she's a little upset. I have this set quite far into her timeline. It's after she's broken Yutaka out of jail and they're both on their way to join the Gaang. Basically Kari's feeling confused about who she is. She's not sure what's Kari, what's Haru and what's anything else... or something along those lines if you know what I mean....

So around her are friends, family or people who are close to her story or effect it in some way or another. So starting from the bottom left we have:

Aiko
Kari and Zai's mother. Kari doesn't really remember her. Half due to she was so young when Aiko died and half to growing up in Hana's care and kind of replacing Hana in the place of Aiko in her memories. I have a couple of ways that Kari remembers Aiko. One is that her Uncle (Aiko's brother) helps her remember, another is that Zai helps her remember and the last is that she see's her as a spirit... I doubt the last one will be a possible action though....

Ren, Hana and Kohaku
Ren and Hana were the couple who took Kari in when her uncle couldn't look after her anymore. They gave her a loving nurturing environment to grow up in and were very supportive of her. They didn't hide the fact she was a Firebender and when Ren wasn't busy with work he taught her a few skills.

When Kari's a little older, Hana get's pregnant with her and Ren's son Kohaku. Though Kari's not there for the birth when she eventually returns to the village she and her 'younger brother' get on really well. Kohaku looks up to Kari and is slightly jealous that she can firebend while he can only earthbend but they get on well.... for now

Zai
It's pretty obvious while Zai is there. He's her older twin brother. Though they had a bit of a bumpy path, getting separated and then not remembering each other. But once they're told their siblings they become quite close. Kari is one of the few who knows about what Zai really is. She does whatever she can for her brother and wishes she could do more, not that he wants her too. He fears that the same fate could happen to her and just wants her to be safe. But they still have their arguing moments hehe.

Yutaka
Again pretty obvious. Yutaka and Kari are lovers, though they don't start that way and they meet by chance sort of. Kari was hypnotised by Long Feng to go and find Yutaka. But when she found him he brought her out of the trance and they went their separate ways. They then bumped into each other a year or so later and travelled a bit together and batta-bing-batta-bomb they felt feelings for each other and got together.

Xian
Xian is Kari and Zai's uncle. When their mother Aiko died he came to finish off Zhao, but Zhao used his children to stop him. He then took Kari to his home as Zhao wouldn't let him have both Zai and Kari. It worked for a while but then something happened making Xian doubt himself to look after his niece so they travelled to the Earth Kingdom and found a more suitable home for Kari. (Xian does have a lot more to do with Kari but me and Kayla haven't gotten that far with rps yet)

Master Piandao
Kari visited Master Piandao with the fire lord, when he went to give Zai a birthday present. Kari begged to stay and be taught by Master Piandao who agreed. She then trained to use a sword and made her own to suite her fighting style. She sort of prefers to use her sword but in and extreme case she prefers her firebending.

Long Feng
As mentioned before Long Feng hypnotises Kari and uses her. But he is also the one who found out the truth about her whilst she was pretending to be a boy and then after more hypnotising he found out more about her, such as who she really is, who her family is, etc. She's reluctant to return to the Earth Kingdom as she's unsure what Long Feng will do to her for failing the mission he gave her.

Zhao
Zhao is Kari and Zai's father. Though he doesn't really care for Kari as she's a girl and he'd rather have Zai. He does show more interest in Kari after Zai turns into a dragon for the first time as Kari can commentate with him. He also threatens to hurt Kari a lot as he knows Zai will do what he wants. Kari doesn't like her father and she hates the way he treats Zai.

So that's that sorry if some explanations are longer than others, I should be heading off to bed. I know her sword sucks but I'm not a weapons artist plus I still need to design her sword. I know I want the handle to look like that and I think I just want a plan blade. But it's quite small and light as that suits Kari more... maybe I'll work on it some more soonish.
